Having recently been to Paris where I toured the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay, I very much enjoyed the descriptions of both the city and the galleries. Also I've seen many of the paintings described in the book, so it brought back many happy memories to read about them. The story was interesting, and I was curious to find out what happened, however I thought the characters and some of the plot points were a little predictable, and sometmes far-fetched.
I wasn't familiar with the story of Jo Van Gogh, so was pleased to learn of it. I think I might have enjoyed the book more if it was written as a biography rather than a novel.
